A Brief History
Our story began in 1978 in Tyler, Texas. Back then we were a single store specializing in tennis and running. Within a few years we were nationally recognized as one of the top 25 specialty running stores in the United States.
Today we are proud to offer our customers a vast selection of superior athletic, lifestyle and collegiate apparel, footwear and accessories for men, women and youth in five convenient Texas locations.
Our original store in Tyler is called Racquet and Jog. We have two stores in Austin; one on the main drag across from the University of Texas main campus, and another at Villages of Westlake located on the southeast corner of Bee Caves and Capitol of Texas Highway. Our Dallas location is in the heart of University Park/Highland Park on Lovers and very close to the Dallas North Tollway. Our 5th store is located at Southlake Town Square and is approximately 10,200 square feet on the ground floor and 5,500 square feet on the basement level in the former Crate and Barrel space, for a total of 15,700 square feet.
Our largest TYLER'S opened in 2013 across from The Woodlands Mall in the old Sears Auto Center occupying nearly 17,000 sq. ft.
Our newest TYLER’S location in Fort Worth opened in Spring of 2016 on University Drive near TCU campus.

We are one of the top retailers of athletic and lifestyle apparel, footwear, eyewear and accessories for men’s, women’s and youth categories. Some of our top brands include Nike, Under Armour, Hurley, Billabong, Quiksilver, Roxy, Volcom, Vans, TOMS, Reef, Oakley, Ray-Ban, The North Face, Patagonia, Redwing Boots, Uggs, Sperry and many more ever evolving lifestyle brands.
The demand for our private label merchandise including t-shirts, shorts, socks and accessories is growing monthly.
Our popular Tyler’s tees began as a favored item for traveling tourists, and have evolved into the beloved iconic t-shirt for proud Texas locals, college and high school students and just about everyone in between. We currently sell approximately 100,000 Tyler’s tees per quarter out of our six stores.
Tyler’s is more than a local store or brand and is beyond a particular culture. Our stores encompass a very wide demographic. Each store takes on its own personality and vibe as it appeals and caters to its surrounding neighborhood and community.
Our stores strive to revolve around three pillars of representation: local, active and lifestyle.
We celebrate and support our local communities through homegrown, athletic, artistic and innovative collaborations, partnerships and events.
We encourage and inspire our employees and customers to pursue active lifestyles in their own personal lives and communities through our innovative products and local events and partnerships.
We showcase a lifestyle of surf, skate, music and fashion through our eclectic and enthusiastic employees, brands and unique happenings.
The non-profit foundation we are most passionate about is The Flatwater Foundation. This summer was the 7th annual TYLER’S Dam That Cancer. In total, we've raised over a million dollars for the foundation through the event. The Flatwater Foundation is a local, Austin non-profit that provides access to mental healthcare for those affected by a cancer diagnosis.
Our philanthropic efforts don’t stop there. Each store has a monthly budget in which we contribute to local, community donation and sponsorship requests. We also host meet ‘n greets for local high school athletic teams. We create and produce a limited edition t-shirt where we donate sales back to the high school’s booster club.
